Andrew and Lucy Loran are the founders of their company
Loran and Co.
Andrew previously studied ‘Lighting and Sound’ before continuing studies in architecture, going on to work in the West End, film and dramas.
Lucy’s background is in alternative health, and the project management of residential developments.
The diverse influences of growing up in London and Bermuda have been inspirational in the thinking behind Loran and Co. London, with its mix of architecture, culture, and history, and Bermuda, which epitomises pure natural beauty and a sense of calm. Being a culmination of the two, they moved to Bath.  Wanting to improve their quality of life, Loran and Co was formed, which enabled the couple to both enjoy their passion for work and be involved in the raising of their four children.
Andrew and Lucy view furniture and surroundings as a representation of a life, a personal story. A desire for a particular piece of furniture can be a reflection of treasured memories, an important event, or a way to create and present new ideas.
They are particularly passionate about timeless pieces, made by a craftsperson who took huge pride in their work, and the industry in which they were employed. They love the thought of people having sat around a 17th century table for hundreds of years, and the life and conversations that the table has witnessed. Aesthetically, to then surround the table with1950s Magistretti chairs, this mixing of historical eras can enhance the story, making it exciting and interesting.
Open to new ideas and influences, the company strive to be as original, ecological and progressive as possible.
Their services are used by an increasing number of interior designers to source or create desired statement pieces for commercial and domestic projects.
